I worked here and experienced some things... yes the place is haunted. Respect....is the key word. As long as you respected Mrs. Pratt their were no issues. Cold spots.. hot spots..lights that would die for not reason. Lots of things that were unexplained...

I have been inside the mansion several times, never at night. The only part of the story I can confirm, is that there is a crack running through the stone portrait of the face of one of his daughters. It is beautiful inside, and my brother has been in most of the secret passages. It is a shame that no one can afford to or wants to buy and restore it.

I've been there, and to just stand outside on the property is chilling. I felt wierd, I had goose bumps, and every hair on my body stood straight up, as I got into the car to leave (I know it sounds strange) I had a seizure (pre-existing condition). I couldn't stay there for too long.

"A walk through the forest of Mount Misery at night will certainly do that. And perhaps if you go, you’ll see something that can’t be explained. "

So true, Todd! And I should know...

You're absolutely right of course, and I have other photos of the gatehouse and still existing remnants to post, when I find the time. I still can't figure out exactly how the structures across the street from the gatehouse (the walls and turret) originally tied in, or whether those were added later. Any clues?

It isn't only the gate that is left, the carriage house, which is just within the existing fence is also from the estate. Although the structure has been greatly altered (last by a family friend who lived there for some years, which is how I know this) The building was constructed on the cusp of autos and horses and so it catered to both.
