The only part of the story I can confirm, is that there is a crack running through the stone portrait of the face of one of his daughters. It is beautiful inside, and my brother has been in most of the secret passages. It is a shame that no one can afford to or wants to buy and restore it. I felt wierd, I had goose bumps, and every hair on my body stood straight up, as I got into the car to leave (I know it sounds strange) I had a seizure (pre-existing condition). Although the structure has been greatly altered (last by a family friend who lived there for some years, which is how I know this) The building was constructed on the cusp of autos and horses and so it catered to both.
